Today, we received confirmation from the Department that, subject to a medical clearance and police checks, an African man from Sierra Leone would be granted a partner visa sponsored by his Australian citizen partner.

On 2 December 2020, we had a very satisfying win for our client Mr R before the Full Court of the Federal Court of Australia in the matter of MQGT v Minister for Immigration, Citizenship, Migrant Services and Multicultural Affairs [2020] FCAFC 215.

Ms S was appealing (seeking judicial review of) a decision of the Administrative Appeals Tribunal to affirm the decision of the Minister to refuse to grant her a permanent Partner (Subclass 100) visa.

Question: How do you lose your Partner visa at the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) when you are in a genuine relationship and there is no reason why you should not be granted such a visa?

On 23 October 2020, we successfully sought review of a decision to refuse our client, Mr Ali (not his real name), citizenship.
